Ashwageezer Ltd ("we", "us") collects only the information needed to handle your pre-order and (if you opt in) send your sats-back. We never see, store, or have access to your card details — these are handled exclusively by Stripe under their PCI-DSS compliance.
What we collect
- The basic transaction record from our payment processor (your name, the amount paid, and the date).
- Your email address, captured by our payment processor at checkout or directly via our Heads-Up List form.
- Your Lightning address, if you supply one in the optional “Lightning Address” field at Stripe checkout to receive sats-back.
- Your shipping address, captured by our payment processor when you complete a pre-order.
We don’t track you across the web, set advertising cookies, or build behavioural profiles.
How we use it
We use your email and shipping address solely to fulfil your pre-order, send shipping updates, and notify you when the product is ready. We use any Lightning address you supply solely to send the sats-back to your wallet if we reach the 2,100 pre-order target. Heads-Up List emails are used only to notify you when we ship. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data with anyone. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
Lawful basis
We process your transaction details and shipping address under the “performance of a contract” lawful basis (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). We process your Lightning address under the same basis — you supply it to receive a contractual benefit (the sats-back). Heads-Up List emails are processed under “consent” (Art. 6(1)(a)) which you give by submitting the form, and you may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.
Retention
We keep transaction records for 6 years after the order, as required by HMRC for tax purposes. Lightning addresses are kept for 24 months after the last sats payout, then deleted. Heads-Up List subscribers are kept until they unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the data we hold about you. Email ash@satoshi-services.com with your request and we’ll respond within 30 days. Note that on-chain Lightning transactions cannot be reversed — we can delete your Lightning address from our records, but the historical sats payout itself cannot be undone.
Data controller
Ashwageezer Ltd is the data controller for the personal information we hold. For privacy queries or to make a complaint, contact ash@satoshi-services.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of the page and, for material changes, email anyone we hold an address for.
